Average gas prices continue to fall across Nebraska, following the lead of prices at gas stations across the country.
According to GasBuddy, Nebraska's average price for a gallon of gas has fallen just over 8 cents to $3.27 over the past week. Those numbers look even better than the 4.2 cent fall of the national average to $3.38 per gallon.
Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan says prices have been falling for 34 consecutive days, and he says it is likely that they will continue to fall.
notable at this point of decline is how much cheaper gas prices stand versus
the same date last year, with motorists realizing prices that are 50 cents or
more lower," said DeHaan. He said the reason for that is likely due to the fact that waters in the Atlantic Ocean have been much calmer this year.
In Nebraska, average prices on Sunday were just over 49 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and almost 39 cents lower than this time last month.
