Funds Set Up to Aid Ranchers in Panhandle, South Dakota Affected by Storm

Posted: Updated:

Neighbors in Nebraska are stepping up to help ranchers in the Panhandle and across the state-line in South Dakota who suffered heavy cattle loss in the recent blizzard.

Some area ranchers even planned to help out by sending a few head from their own herds, but with the discovery of the massive amounts of mixed up cattle and downed fences, plans to send breeding stock have been put on hold.

The main focus now is on recovery, but many people are still stepping up to send relief aid. A fund has been set up for Nebraska ranchers dealing with loss of cattle. Those interested in contributing can do so by sending donations to The Cattle Relief Fund at P.O. Box 1125, Chadron, NE 69337.

A fund has also been set up for South Dakota ranchers who are experiencing heavy losses. Contributions toward that fund can be sent via www.giveblackhills.org.
