Kearney Restore Ministries Helps Out Colorado Flood Victims and Nebraska Tornado Victims

Posted: Updated:

A local group traveled to Colorado to help flood victims. Kearney Restore Ministries is back from two trips this past weekend.

The local group helped flood efforts in Colorado and tornado victims in Wayne, Nebraska.

Kearney Restore Ministries sent a group of 15 to Sterling, Colorado for four days. On Saturday and Sunday another group of 15 volunteers went to Wayne, Nebraska.

Originally the Colorado trip was the only one planned, but when disaster struck in the group's home state they organized the second trip.

The volunteers helped out four families this weekend. The group set the initial stages for the victim's homes to be rebuilt.

Volunteer Brandon Luke who was on the Wayne trip shared what he experienced.

"It's really neat to serve God in this way, it's a joy, honor to do that, god calls us to serve the people that are in need that are hurting, this is a great ministry to do that," said Luke.

Kearney Restore Ministries says they are always looking for new volunteers.
