Exonerated Man to Speak About His Time on Death Row in Several Neb. Presentations

Exonerated man Curtis McCarty will be stopping in several Nebraska towns this November to speak about his time spent on Oklahoma's death row for a crime he didn't commit.

McCarty was exonerated in 2007 after being convicted twice and sentenced to death three times. Now he tours the country speaking about his life before, during and after his time on death row.

Nebraskans for Alternatives to the Death Penalty is sponsoring his presentations, which are free for the public.

His presentations are planned for:

Nov. 5: Hastings-- Grace United Methodist Church, 1832 W. 9th St. at 7 p.m.

Nov. 7: York-- First United Methodist Church, Old Fellowship Hall, 309 E. 7th St. at 7 p.m.

Nov. 12: Holdrege-- First United Methodist Church, 604 West Avenue at 7 p.m.

Nov. 14: Schuyler-- St. Augustine Catholic Church social hall, 619 Banner St. at 7 p.m.

Nov. 18: Alliance-- Place and Time TBA

Nov. 18: Chadron-- Chadron State College, Student Center, Bordeaux/Lakota Rm at 7 p.m.

Nov. 19: Valentine-- Place and Time TBA
