Prosecutors are recommending probation for a 29-year-old York woman convicted in an abuse case against a vulnerable adult.
In a plea deal, prosecutors lowered the charges against Lindey Steider in exchange for her no contest plea earlier this week.
Deputy York County Attorney Benjamin Dennis says an
elderly woman with significant health issues employed Steider for help
with daily tasks.
Dennis says that when Steider went grocery
shopping for her employer, Steider bought items for herself but charged
them to the woman's food stamp card.
The attorney says restitution has already been paid for the charges.
Steider is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 2.
