Two people were taken to the hospital
after a semi and car collided near Grand Island Wednesday.
According to the Hall County Sheriff's
office, 78-year old Gerald Jindra, of Central City, was turning east from
Capital Avenue onto Highway 30 when his car was hit by a semi.
Authorities say the semi driver
braked, but could not avoid the crash.
Jindra and his female passenger were
taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
He was cited for failure to yield.
Eastbound traffic on Highway 30 was
diverted at Shady Bend Road for an hour and a half.
Deputies opened the lane back up at
about 8:30 p.m.
