Kearney Parade Planned to Honor Veterans

The Kearney community plans to honor its veterans Monday with a Veterans Day Parade in downtown Kearney.

Kearney area residents are invited to watch over 70 floats and entries take over Central Avenue from Railroad Street to the Museum of Nebraska Art parking lot.

"This is a great opportunity to come out and support not only our veterans but the entire community,"said Megan Colling, event director at the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce. "We are thrilled to welcome our veterans home to Kearney."

The parade starts at 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11. Over 1,000 hand-held flags will be distributed to people along the parade route.
