Attendees at the annual Western Sustainable Ag Crops and Livestock Conference in Ogallala this December will be hearing from speakers about "Using cover crops in western Nebraska".
That is the theme for the conference, which will be held Dec. 7 at the Mid-Plains Community College extended campus, 512 E. B St, in Ogallala. The conference will run from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Speakers will cover topics including cover crops, vegetable growing, grazing management, wheat breeding and the impact of bees on food production.
agronomist with Star Seed Kansas, is the event's keynote speaker. He will share about his 25 years of experience working
with farmers and ranchers in the Great Plains from the Gulf of Mexico to the
Canadian border on forage systems and cover cropping.
Additionally, Strickler will discuss how integrating cover crops into a cropping system can
improve soil health and decrease input costs.
