Despite a slowdown in October, farm equipment sales continue to be
ahead of last year's pace.
According to a report released Monday from the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, less than 20,000 farm tractors were sold in October across the U.S., down 3.4 percent from October 2012.
Combine sales were even harder hit, down nearly 35 percent from last year.
However, with October's sales factored in, tractor sales are up just over 10 percent compared with the same period last year.
Nearly 173,000 tractors have been purchased this year, in addition to nearly 9,000 combines which have seen a sales increase of 5.6 percent despite slow sales in October.
