North Platte Police Note Several Reports of Scam Calls, Warn Residents to be Cautious

Posted: Updated:

The North Platte Police Department is warning residents about a phone scam that has already been reported many times this Wednesday.

According to the department several complaints have come in from people receiving calls and texts from an alleged Wells Fargo representative claiming to need personal information to reinstate an expired card.

Police say some of the people reportedly receiving these calls and texts don't even have an account with Wells Fargo.

The department says they are investigating the calls, but in the meantime they want to remind residents to be on the look-out for scammers and to not give personal information out over the phone or through email.
