Downtown Kearney will soon have a new look -- not in person -- but online!
The Downtown Improvement Board meets every month to go over financial information and other issues, and a big topic on the agenda Wednesday was the website for Downtown Kearney.
Lack of traffic, outdated information and being visually unappealing were the main concerns that led to the approval of a $1,725 web page redesign.
With the majority of business and entertainment searching now on mobile devices and online, the board says they felt revamping the website was the way to go.
"Our goal is to have one hundred percent of the businesses in downtown Kearney on the web page and all the information always being relevant, not a year or two ago's information," said board chairman, Walter Martin. "So not only get current information but then on a very regular basis, every couple of months going back to the businesses and seeing if there any new information."
The page will also steer away from branding as "Main Street Kearney" and instead focus on highlighting "The Bricks".
The website redesign is set to be live and functioning by January First.
