Gubernatorial candidate Pete Ricketts was in Kearney Thursday where former U.S. Rep. Bill Barrett announced his endorsement of Ricketts as Nebraska's next governor.
Barrett made the announcement Thursday morning at the University of Nebraska- Kearney.

Ricketts will put his business experience to work for Nebraska's

work in state government, we can work together to preserve the American Dream
for the next generation of Nebraskans."
Barrett, of Lexington, represented Nebraska's Third District from 1991 to 2001 after serving on the Unicameral from 1987 to 1991.
Ricketts, an Omaha businessman, announced his intention to enter the race for governor in September.
He says Nebraska's next governor needs to ease the tax burden on Nebraska families and ensure the state government is managing taxpayer dollars wisely.
