It's looks as though farmers along the Republican River Basin will once again face an uncertain year ahead.
Irrigation has been a major issue for entire communities along the federal canals for some time now.
Short falls are expected again this year. This means the states decision regarding the release compact water for the area could greatly affect these communities
"We're looking at no irrigation on all four canals. the state of Nebraska stored some compact water in these reservoirs last year and we're told that they may release that to use. if that happens we're looking at a two inch allocation again in 2014 like we had in 2013," said Brad Edgerton with the Frenchman-Cambridge Irrigation District.
Officials said, even if they are allowed that two inch allocation, they will likely be back in the same boat again this time next year.
