Hebron Man Dies After House Catches Fire

A 61-year-old Hebron man died Monday night after his home caught fire.

Firefighters found Anthony Wiedel unresponsive inside his burning house around 10:30 p.m. Monday. He was taken to Thayer County Health Services hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators believe the fire began in the basement and the cause remains under investigation.

An autopsy has been ordered for Wiedel.
