Bryan Slone Enters Nebraska Governor's Race

Posted: Updated:

An Omaha tax attorney is the latest to announce a run for Nebraska governor.

Bryan Slone announced his bid in Gering on Sunday.

Slone is the sixth Republican candidate to enter the primary race.

He's a former Reagan administration tax lawyer, and recently retired from a prominent Omaha accounting office.

Slone earned his bachelor's and law degrees from the University of Nebraska.

He was born in Wayne and grew up in small towns throughout the state.

The 56-year-old said he would focus on lowering taxes and promoting economic growth if elected.

Slone will face fellow Republicans Auditor Mike Foley, State Senators Tom Carlson, Charlie Janssen and Beau McCoy and businessman Pete Ricketts.
