GIPD: Driver Leaves Flipped Vehicle in Street

Posted: Updated:

Grand Island police are looking for a man they say left his flipped van in the middle of 10th Street Tuesday night.

Officials were called to the scene between Cedar and Walnut Streets around 7:30 p.m.

Police said the vehicle's passenger stayed, but the driver took off running.

The passenger told police he was getting a ride home from someone he didn't know; when the driver looked in the back seat before hitting a parked car.

Police said the passenger was drunk and suspect the driver was too.

They said the van is totaled and estimate around $500 worth of damage was done to the parked car.

No injuries have been reported.
