Blake Fruchtl, Hastings College – 141lb. Weight Class
Hastings College wrestler Blake Fruchtl is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Wrestler-of-the-Week. Fruchtl, a sophomore from Grand Island, Nebraska, has emerged as one of the top wrestlers in the NAIA North Region as he gave sixth ranked Brandon Wright (from Grand View) all he could handle before falling 5-2 in the 141 pound championship match at York College Open. In the same event he picked up a win by pin over Tyler Emmert from Grand View and a 10-4 win over AJ Hertado from Nebraska-Kearney. Blake finished second in the 141 lb. weight class in the York Open last Saturday. Fruchtl will next take part in a GPAC triangular with Concordia and Northwestern on January 10, 2014.
