Hastings - The Hastings College women's basketball team was without Jamie Van Kirk but the Bronco offense didn't miss a beat knocking off the Mount Marty Lancers 93-77 on Saturday at Lynn Farrell Arena.
Cami Bruckman took it upon herself to lead the Broncos as she attempted 23 shots while connecting on 11 for a game high and career high 29 points in just over 37 minutes.
Hastings struggled to pull away in the first half but just when it appeared the Lancers may make an attempt to take the lead, Autumn Zenon would seem to drain big three after big three. She would finish with 16 points and also hit 4-for-6 three-point attempts.
Shanelle Farmer got her first start of her collegiate career in place of Van Kirk and finished the day with 13 points. Abby Jackson also had a nice game finishing with 12 points.
The Lancers were led by Cassidy Gebhart as she finished with 26 points on 7-for-11 shooting.
With the win, Hastings improves to 13-2 (5-2) on the season and will be back in action Monday Dec. 30 as NAIA No. 9 Southwestern (KS) comes to town with tip-off set for 6:00 p.m. at Lynn Farrell Arena.
