This week we honor an Army and Navy veteran, Pedro Martinez.
Pedro served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1971. He then went on to serve our country as a Yeoman in the Navy for 20 years, also serving in Desert Storm.
Pedro is now retired from the military but his fighting days didn't stop there. He was diagnosed with cancer but has now become a four-year survivor.
Mary nominated her brother and said she is so proud of his fighting spirit. He comes from a big family and she said that he is loved by his 12 brothers and sisters along with many more nieces and nephews.
Mary added that Pedro has a huge heart and is ready to help those in need without question. She wanted to say thank you to her brother for proudly serving in the military and being such a wonderful brother.
Pedro, thank you for your service to our country.
