One local lottery player has hit the jackpot. This past Saturday a Pump and Pantry in Kearney sold a winning Powerball ticket worth $1 million.
The winner of the ticket has not claimed their prize yet, but has 180 days to do so before the ticket expires.
The store hopes the winner comes forward soon. Once the winner claims their prize Pump and Pantry will receive a commission of $10,000.
"A lot of big lottery players, they will buy a bunch of tickets and leave them in their purse or in their car, because they don't think they are winners. Once they hear about it they're all frantic and go check," said cashier Sadi Capps.
In the past, the store has sold a winning ticket of $30,000. The odds of winning this million dollar prize was 1 in 5,000,000.
