The Archway will be closed for a few months to start the new year, according to the attraction's board of directors.
The announcement was made Thursday that the museum, formally known as The Great Platte River Road Archway, will be closed from Jan. 1 through Feb. 28 so updates can be made.
Officials say the closure will allow staff and volunteers to complete some routine maintenance as well as focus on freshening up the exhibit and the museum's promotions.
"The facility has been open almost non-stop for 13
years and this closure provides a great opportunity to focus on the rebranding
of the facility and the grand reopening," shared The Archway Board President Joel Johnson.
Archway began rebranding efforts last week when they announced the name change, to simply The Archway.
