The Grand Island Northwest band is in San Diego preparing to perform at Monday's Holiday Bowl.
The Viking drum line has already performed in a battle of the bands at a local mall.
They'll also be performing in the Big Bay Balloon parade Monday before taking to the field as some of the 1,800 students providing halftime entertainment for the Holiday Bowl.
"[Sunday] morning they actually put it together with a number of dancers and cheer leaders that will also be joining the halftime show; so the field is pretty well covered with high school students and it's a pretty cool sight to see," said Shawn Pfanstiel, GINW band director.
It's not all work. The band has also done some shopping, and been to the zoo and Sea World.
They'll end their trip with a performance at Disneyland on Tuesday.
