Tuesday is the last day to buy, sell and to shoot off fireworks here in the state.
Some Nebraska residents hoping to ring in the new year with a bang are in luck, as certain areas are allowing fireworks to be lit until midnight Tuesday.
In 2010, the Nebraska Legislature started allowing the sale and use of fireworks during the New Year holiday with individual city approval.
And while sales aren't as high as many have expected them to be, local vendors are still holding out for those loyal customers.
"It seems like most of the people that come are people that come to our locations during the summer that are familiar with us and know that we're open here in Cozad. And so they'll a lot of times make the trip down," said Troy Wuehler of Troy's Hot Rocket Fireworks in Cozad.
Not only have sales dropped during this sales period, but distribution as well. Last year 27 vendors were selling across the state as opposed to 20 this year.
