The New Year brings excitement for many couples, all you have to do is look at Facebook to see photos of brides-to-be showing off new engagement rings.
The Heartland Bridal Expo is this Sunday in Grand Island.
Based on all the engagements posted on Facebook, show promoter Hollie Klimek says love is in the air.
"Since Christmas Eve we've been seeing lots of photographs of people's rings, proposals, just all the stories are popping up of all the engagements," she said.
Klimek said she hasn't tallied up the numbers, but as a wedding photographer says it sure appears more guys are deciding to propose for Christmas or New Year's.
And surveys bear that out. One poll in the UK found four of the top six top days for proposals occur during the holiday season. Valentine's Day and Halloween account for the other days, outside of Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year's, and New Year's Eve.
The Heartland Bridal Expo is Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Heartland Events Center. Admission is $2, and dozens of vendors will be showing off the latest trends in bridal wear, photography, catering, and more.
