Kearney police have arrested one man in connection with a New Year's Eve explosion inside a car, which officials believe may have been caused by a mobile meth lab.

Levi Sanderson, 24, of Kearney, was arrested on the felony charge of manufacturing a controlled substance.

The explosion occurred on the 800 block of Avenue C Tuesday evening, sending a woman to the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln to be treated at their burn center. Authorities have not released the woman's name.

Following the incident, police were searching for the red Ford Taurus involved in the incident as well as two men believed to be inside at the time of the fire. The car was eventually found abandoned in Phillipsburg, Kansas.

More arrests are expected in this case.
