A 32-year-old man from York County is appealing his conviction for the death of his 4-month-old daughter in 2011.
Ryan Kozisek filed the appeal earlier this week along with appeals for his sentencing order and an earlier denial of his motion for a new trial.
Kozisek was sentenced in December to 35 to 50 years in prison after a York County jury found him guilty of child abuse resulting in the death of his daughter Kayley.
Kayley died at an Omaha
hospital on Jan. 25, 2011, a day after Kozisek called 911 and said she
Kozisek told authorities that his 2-year-old
daughter fell off a stepping stool and landed on the baby.
The injuries were later determined to be the result of abusive head trauma.
