A local high school was buzzing with activity as two student organizations hosted different fundraisers.
As Grand Island Central Catholic and Kearney Catholic went head to head on the court, fans in the stands showed their team spirit in red, during the school's first "Red Out".
Sponsored by the GICC Student Council, officials said it's a great opportunity to share the importance of heart health with the younger community.
"Fellowship is a huge part of what events like this do, and then the same thing with the Red Out," said GICC Fine Arts Guild President Pam Van Heufeln. "That also gives both schools the opportunity to come together although they're competing with one another, it gives them the opportunity to come together and support a cause together."
GICC's Fine Arts Guild hosted its annual taco feed as well. The GICC Student Council plans to make the "Red Out" an annual event.
