Immigration Reform Finds Bipartisan Support

Posted: Updated:

State Senator John Wightman and 13 other lawmakers have signed on to a resolution asking Congress to act on immigration.

Wightman represents Lexington. He said communities like his need a workforce, but he's not very optimistic about what he calls "common sense reform."

"I think we need to. I don't think we have much hope they're going to do anything solid in that regard, but I think it does need to be addressed," said Sen. Wightman.

A diverse coalition from the cattlemen and agriculture groups to faith–based organizations have joined in support of immigration reform.

The head of the Restaurant Association says it's an economic issue, but also about protecting families.
