80 Acres Of Pastureland Burned In Sunday Afternoon Fire

Posted: Updated:

80 acres of pasture is burned after a fire near North of Odessa Sunday afternoon.

Three fire departments responded to the scene. Fire officials say the landowner was driving around his pasture when his catalytic converter caught tall grass on fire.

Very dry and windy conditions moved the fire along the grass. Elm Creek and Amherst Volunteer Fire Departments were also called for mutual aide.

Odessa Road was shut down for about 2 1/2 hours and the fire was out about 5:30pm.

No injuries were reported.
