Jake Taylor was born in American Fork, Utah. He attended Pine View High School in St. George, Utah. He attended Brigham Young University where he earned his degree in Broadcast Journalism.
Jake decided to work in journalism in the 8th grade. His English teacher, Mrs. Ronnow made him make her a promise: that he would find a career that would make use of his ability to write, ability to speak and his curiosity. Jake started his career as an intern at ABC4 in Salt Lake City. Then, he was Bureau Chief and Weekend Anchor at KIFI in Pocatello, Idaho. He was also a Morning Anchor/Reporter for KRGV in McAllen, Texas.
Jake likes reading a good book, learning something new, keeping up with the latest news and playing guitar. Jake is the youngest in his family; he has two brothers and one sister. He speaks fluent Portuguese and spent two years living in Brazil serving a religious mission.
