Dave Domina Stops In Grand Island on Senate Bid

Posted: Updated:

A new Democratic Senate hopeful has made a stop in central Nebraska, hoping to win votes in his bid for office.

Dave Domina met with Grand Island voters on his tour of the state following his announcement of his plans to run for U.S. Senate.

Domina, who recently changed parties from Independent to Democrat, says the nation's biggest issue is deciding what makes government work.

With issues like passing a budget or collecting taxes, he says the farm bill may be the biggest challenge for Nebraskans.

"No Nebraskan wants food or food production to become a political pawn, and they've both become political pawns in this partisan divide," said Domina. "I'm astounded that the Nebraskan congressional delegation hasn't unanimously advance that farm bill, but it hasn't, and I think Nebraskans are going to punish that."

Domina is the lone Democrat running against Republicans Sid Dinsdale, Shane Osborn, Ben Sasse, Bart McLeay, and Clifton Johnson, and Independents Jim Jenkins and David Holcomb.
