Deadline Nears to Nominate Volunteers for 2014 First Lady's Outstanding Community Service Awards

Nebraska first lady Sally Ganem is looking for nominations for individuals who are great volunteers for the 2014 First Lady's Outstanding Community Service Awards.

"I am pleased to work with ServeNebraska to recognize Nebraskans who have made extraordinary efforts and generous contributions to our great state," said Ganem, who serves as honorary chair of ServeNebraska.

Eleven awards will be given out in two categories -- education and outstanding volunteerism, for individuals, groups and businesses.

The awards will be presented at a special ceremony luncheon on Friday, April 11 at the Thompson Alumni Center at the University of Nebraska- Omaha.

Nominations should be submitted by Feb. 15. For more information or to submit a nomination, go to www.serve.nebraska.gov.
