Toyota has told dealers to put the brakes on the sales of certain models equipped with seat heaters.
The auto-maker said the reason for the halt in sales is that seat heaters in some of its models do not comply with federal standards. Toyota said a section of the heated seats are supposed to be made of materials to slow flames at a specific rate.
The stop-sale affects certain Avalon, Camry, Corolla, Sienna, Tacoma and Tundra vehicles. Toyota said they are preparing changes to address the problem.
The automaker added that there have been no reports of incidents or injuries and they are not issuing a recall because of what they consider a very low safety risk.
