A former Lincoln city councilman has been named as the new executive director of the Nebraska Democratic Party.
Party chairman Vince Powers announced Monday that Dan Marvin will be taking over the position.

tremendously successful Pinnacle Bank Arena project, Dan Marvin has the proven
experience and background to lead the Nebraska Democratic Party, as we
work to elect Democrats in 2014," Powers said.
Marvin has owned and operated Marvin Investment Management Co. since 1993. He was elected to the Lincoln City Council in 2005 and served as chair from 2007 to 2008.
Dan Marvin, the Nebraska Democratic Party will have a leader who will be
an aggressive advocate for our candidates, while holding the Republican
ticket accountable as we approach the 2014 elections," said Powers.
Marvin is replacing Jim Rogers, who left the party post to run the Senate campaign for Democrat David Domina.
