Trial Date Set for Double Murder Suspect Michael Petersen

Double murder suspect Michael Petersen was arraigned in Hall County District Court Tuesday on charges of first degree murder and use of weapon.

Peterson entered pleas of not guilty for both charges and a trial date was set for May 12.

Judge James Livingston recused himself from further hearings. Judge John Icenogle from Buffalo County District Court will preside over the case.

Petersen is accused of killing his ex-wife Nancy Petersen in Kearney, then driving to Grand Island where police say he shot his attorney Todd Elsbernd.
