Senator Deb Fischer made a stop at the Cattlemen's Classic at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds in Kearney.
The senator said she looks forward to getting out to Kearney for the annual event.
Now with the Senate fresh off the heels of the much anticipated farm bill, Fischer said it's events like Cattlemen's Classic that reinforce just how much it was needed.
"The farm bill was passed. I voted for the farm bill and I was happy to see that finally happen. We all know agriculture's very important to the state of Nebraska; the Cattlemen's Classic here in Kearney certainly reinforces that," Fischer said.
The senator will be in Nebraska through the rest of the week and will also be making stops in Lincoln and Omaha.
