Lauren Scharf

Lauren was born across the pond in Truro, England but grew up most of her life in beautiful Colorado. She graduated from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Lauren had the privilege to intern at 7News in Denver the summer of 2012 with the sports team where she experienced top breaking news stories like the Aurora Theater Shooting, Waldo Canyon Fire and Peyton Manning playing for the Broncos. While finishing up college, she did another internship with the Little Rock, Arkansas 7News team. There she spent a lot of time interviewing politicians at the state capitol and learning the producer side of news. At her University she worked as a producer, anchor and reporter for the schools-student run live, nightly 30 minute newscast TV 16 both in sports and news.

As a young girl, Lauren watched the news every morning with her dad (before cartoons) and ever since, news has fascinated her. Lauren loves how news changes in an instant and each day is different. She's passionate about telling and breaking controversial stories. Seeing first-hand what is happening in the community and informing people is why she chose to go into broadcasting.

Outside of the office, Lauren likes to work out, be outdoors, see movies, and do any sort of do-it-yourself craft. She played four years of collegiate soccer and will kick around at any opportunity. She also enjoys traveling and would like to learn different languages. Being from Colorado, she is a huge Denver Broncos fan and tries to hit the slopes as much as possible whether it's snowboarding or skiing.

Lauren joined NTV in August of 2013 and is excited to be living in the Husker state. She wants to tell your story and stories that matter to you. Please don't hesitate to send an email to her at, like her on Facebook, or follow her on Twitter, even to just say hello!
