Kearney Children's Museum Celebrates Dr. Seuss's Birthday

Posted: Updated:

The memory of a favorite children's storyteller continues on with a generous helping of green eggs and ham.

The Kearney Children's Museum hosted a party for Dr. Seuss on Saturday morning, to celebrate his 110th birthday.

Organizers say the event gives children a chance to use imagination, and learn more about the author.

They say his work spans generations, which can bring families together.

"I think these books really are relevant. It's a way for parents to share with their children that they read as a child," said museum program director Jennifer Beck. "Just a way for them to connect together and be able to just dive into the world of Dr. Seuss."

Activities included a visit from the Good Samaritan therapy dogs, a breakfast of green eggs and ham, and an appearance from the 'Cat in the Hat".
