This week we salute three generations of servicemen: Raymond Schank, Jr., his son Richard and his grandson Bradley.
Ray served four years in the army during World War II in the 95th Infantry Division, where he was stationed in France, Germany and Great Britain.
Ray suffered an injury from shrapnel while crossing from Germany to France and was awarded the Purple Heart.
While recovering from his injury he trained "the young new guys" in shooting.
When talking about his time in the Army, Ray said, "I am very proud that I served my country."
He has many other reasons to be proud as well. His son Richard is a veteran and his grandson Bradley is currently serving in the Army.
The staff at Litzenberg Long Term Care nominated Ray and would like to thank him for his service. They say he is an inspiration and strives to find something good in each day.
Ray, Richard and Bradley, thank you for your service to our country.
