Victims Hope Embezzlement Case Raises Awareness

Posted: Updated:

A Grand Island woman was sentenced to three years probation for stealing from a local business.

Joleen Freeman, 53, was also given 60 hours of community service and ordered to pay nearly $11,000 in restitution at the sentencing this week.

Freeman was convicted of theft by deception for incidents that happened between 2008 and 2012 at Advanced Radiology and Midwest Imaging.

Co-owner Dr. John Allen said he turned his former office manager into police.

He told NTV he hopes the case brings awareness to this often underreported crime.
