Restore Ministries Heading to Wayne

Posted: Updated:

Restore Ministries out of Kearney is at it again, looking for volunteers for their next project that's taking them to Wayne, Nebraska.

The group started about nine months ago and has already been a part of several projects all over the United States. However, for their upcoming spring break trip they will be staying in Nebraska to help with more cleanup from the tornado that hit Wayne in October.

The group will be taking on many odd jobs, from cleaning up fallen trees that are still down to their main project of rebuilding a barn. And they are still looking for volunteers.

Michael O'Brien, who founded Restore Ministries says anyone is welcome.

"Right now we have about twelve people but we'd like to get maybe another ten to twelve people," he said. "There's just so much work left up there and the people really feel abandoned and we can use any kind of help. We're going to be building barns, but we're also going to be doing some basic cleanup."

The group leaves Thursday, March 27 and will return on Sunday, March 30. All expenses are paid should you choose to volunteer.

"Just hands is what we need; and we'll be providing lodging, food, transportation so it doesn't cost anything but their time to go."

The trip is for those ages twelve and up, but if you're under eighteen they would like a parent to come along.

For more information, you can find the group on Facebook.

If you're not necessarily handy but still want to be a part of Restore Ministries, they are also looking for someone who is computer savvy and could help out with their website and emails.
