Sen. Deb Fischer is a proud grandmother of twins who won't have to share a birthday.
The first term senator from Valentine and her husband announced the birth on Facebook.
"Bruce and I are thrilled to announce the birth of our second and third grandchildren! Our son Adam and his wife Tisha's beautiful twins arrived last night," she posted.
Margaret May was born at 11:54 p.m. and Bryan Carl arrived at 12:13 a.m., making them twins with different birthdays.
Fischer went on to say, "All are healthy and happy. We feel thankful and truly blessed to celebrate the arrival of these precious children to our family."
Fischer is in her second year in the U.S. Senate. When Senator Mike Johanns retires at the end of this session, she will become the state's senior senator.
