Team USA is in the area for a weekend camp, teaching fundamentals to up-and-coming softball players.
About 110 girls from across Nebraska gathered in Hastings for two days of public and private sessions.
Officials from Hastings Park and Recreation brought in three members of Team USA for the clinic, saying these players may just inspire local players to aspire to a higher level.
"Every girl who plays softball dreams to play for Team USA so it's really an important program," said HPR recreation superintendent Ryan Martin. "And the more they can learn fundamentals from these players, the more they can enhance their game to maybe someday play for Team USA."
Girls from as far as McCook and Lincoln came for the camp, which organizers hope to make an annual event.
