Archery turkey season is open and youth shotgun season isunderway, with youth permits costing only $5. The regular shotgun season for everyone opens April 12. Permits can be obtained easily online atoutdoornebraska.org.

Enrollment is open for the Crop Stubble Program for Wildlife. There is $1.5 million from the Nebraska Environmental Trust available to producers who leave wheat and milo stubble at least 14 inches tall and undisturbed until April 1 of the following year. Producers can receive up to $10 per acre, as well as an additional incentive for allowing hunting access. For moreinformation, go to StubbleForWildlife.com.

Saturday, April 19, Indian Cave State Park isplanning a big Outdoor Adventure Day with exhibits and demonstrations, hand sonactivities, a morel hunting contest, fish fry and a morning run. To pre-register for the run, call the park at402-883-2575.

The Nebraska Great Park Pursuit has launched for a sixthyear. Travel to the selected 20 parks around Nebraska, locate the greennature posts, make an impression of the nature plate and then send them in. This makes you eligible for outdoor prizepackages. Register online at negpp.org
