A five hour hotel standoff has ended with the arrest of a Lincoln man.
Deputies with the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office reported 33-year-old Jeremiah Joseph Burkhart was arrested Thursday afternoon at a Quality Inn near the airport. They said Burkhart barricaded himself in one of the rooms in an attempt to avoid an arrest warrant.
Police talked with Burkhart through the door of the room, over the phone and by text message before making the arrest. At one point Burkhart told officials he was armed.
At least one hotel floor was evacuated, and a nearby street was shut down during the standoff.
Burkhart had a warrant out for his arrest for allegedly using a financial device illegally.
