Posted: Updated:
Kearney, Neb. – Former Nebraska-Kearney wrestler Tervel Dlagnev dominated the 2014 Las Vegas ASICS U.S. Open  this weekend by out coring the competition 52-1.

Dlagnev (Sunkist Kids Wrestling/Columbus, Ohio) won another national title by recording five straight tech falls.

In the semifinals, he beat former Northern State standout Matt Meuleners by a 10-0 score. He registered the same score in the finals against Dom Bradley, a former Missouri Tiger.

Last year in this tournament, Bradley upset Dlagnev in the finals.

Dlagnev, who has made every U.S. World or Olympic Team but once since 2009, was one of eight freestyle champions crowned on Saturday.

The top seven finishers in each Olympic weight class qualify for the U.S. World Team Trials on May 31-June 1 in Madison, Wisc. The World Championships are scheduled for Sept. 8-14 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
