One of Christian music's most enduring performers has been scheduled to play this year's Nebraska State Fair.
Michael W. Smith will headline the fair's annual Christian concert on Thursday, August 28.
Smith has won multiple Grammy awards and sold more than 15 million albums. He has had dozens of Christian hits, making him one of the nation’s favorite mainstream Christian artists.
The fair's events and entertainment director, Chelsey Jungck said, "Michael W. Smith is a great performer who brings an impact that literally changes peoples’ lives."
Smith has achieved worldwide acclaim as a writer, musician, singer and overall performer and will perform at 7:30pm on Thursday, August 28 at the Heartland Events Center. Reserved seat tickets can be obtained by going to Etix.com or the Heartland Events Center Box Office in Grand Island for a $6 dollar convenience fee.
Tickets go on sale August 4.
Jungck says, “We have eliminated the wristband system to save our guests the time they stand in line, allow more folks from outside Grand Island to get reserved seat tickets and eliminate the need for a number of trips to the fairgrounds in a single day. Now, getting a reserved seat ticket can be quick and easy from the comfort of your own home.”
“We’re very happy to have Michael W. Smith at the 2014 Nebraska State Fair. A performer who is as popular today as he was when he began in the 80s. Unmatched talent by any measure,” Jungck said.
