When it comes to healthcare, patient satisfaction is on the top tier of importance for most hospitals, and one area rural facility is boasting high marks in that area.
Harlan County Health System in Alma was recently named a Best Practice recipient in patient satisfaction by the Nation Rural Health Association.
The facility was among 19 others that ranked highest in the category over 1,300 other rural hospitals in the country.
"You think we're a small hospital in Alma, Nebraska and nobody notices what we're doing. It’s just really nice to see that the hard work that our staff puts in everyday makes a difference," said Harlan County Health System CEO Manny Wolf.
Patients filled out surveys covering quality of care and other criteria to determine which hospitals would receive this recognition.
Four other Nebraska hospitals were also recognized in the patient satisfaction category including; Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, West Holt Memorial Hospital in Atkinson, Dundy County Hosptial in Benkelman and Garden County Health Services in Oshkosh. The hospitals will officially be recognized in October at the NRHA's Critical Access Hospital Conference in Kansas City, Mo.
