Maxine Bosselman, the namesake of Grandma Max's Restaurant, who founded the successful Bosselman Companies with her late husband has died.
Fred and Maxine Bosselman founded the privately held company in 1948, and have seen it expand far beyond central Nebraska.
The Bosselmans run 50 Pump & Pantry convenience stores, 44 Boss Shops, the Bosselman Travel Center, plus hotels.
There are also six Grandma Max's and Max's Highway Diner restaurants, named in honor of Maxine.
The family company is now in its third generation, run by Maxine's grandson Charlie Bosselman, who founded the Nebraska Danger indoor football team.
Bosselman's has been a leader in community service for 65 years and has supported the local communities through financial contributions, support of youth scholarships, community events, and volunteer efforts of employees.
