The Minden Rotary Club collected books Saturday to send to third world countries. This is the second time the club has done this; they will be sending books to 17 different countries.
“But for the people in those countries these books go to, these books are the gifts of literacy,” said Daniel Davis.
Davis hopes some communities can turn these books in to a library of their own. In one day they collected more than three thousand pounds of books.
The next step for the books is to travel south. Once the books reach Texas they will be shipped off to third world countries.
